We visited Queendown Warren in Kent today. Thankfully I was driven; not an easy place to find from the M2 (for me at least).
I have two pictures; not wonderful I know but I hope they will be helpful.
I think this might be a Brown Argus; it seems too dark a brown for a Common Blue Butterfly?
[ii] I have never knowingly seen a Small Blue Butterfly but I'm wondering if this fairly worn character might be one? I say that by looking at the spot pattern on the outside of the wing? But I wonder if it's small enough.
Hopefully I'm not too far off the mark but …..
A million thanks in advance ~ Mike …..

I make no claims for being an expert but as no one else has answered ...
1 female Brown Argus
2 looks too blue to me to be a Small Blue. It's not the best picture & it's a tatty example so that's as far as I'm going

I'd edge toward male Common Blue for the second.

Dear all:
Thanks very much.
I had hoped the second one might be a Small Blue; I wasn't at all convinced though!
Once again, many thanks….
