Aberration or just worn?

Post by andy brown »

Hi,

Before I delete as a worn individual I was just wondering if it could be an unclassified aberration as it similar to Pete's in the species unclassified album.

It might be worn, as here is one I took yesterday; interesting to know from the cognoscenti.

Must admit, when I was in the Pyrenees in 2012, I saw several like this and at first had to do a double take as I wasn't sure what they were. I'm pretty confident they're very faded specimens rather than aberrations.

I saw one in the Alps a few years back that was bald! Barely a scale left in place. Very odd...
