Glad to meet you!

Post by Jacqui Jay »

I just joined a couple of weeks ago and thought I ought to introduce myself. I retired last year (I had a small printing company) and now spend half my week studying for a degree in photography at Nottingham Trent University and the other half travelling round the Midlands and North of England visiting nature reserves. In summer, I shoot butterflies and dragonflies and in winter I shoot birds.
I was delighted to find this site and very impressed with the standard of the photographs and the relaxed, friendly atmosphere among the members. I probably won't be a prolific poster but I'll keep popping in and I look forwrd to getting to know everyone – once you find a good thing you don't let it go! :D

Welcome Jacqui - and we look forward to your posts! Perhaps you can teach us a thing or two on the photography front, at least!

Cheers,

- Pete

Welcome from me here in Surrey Jacqui, I follow the same photographic pattern as yourself but also go for Fungi in the autumn.
Looking forward to chatting with you as time goes by and hopefully seeing some of your work.
Regards Mike

Hi and welcome too. Just wondering if I should venture outdoors to see if there are any butterflies still alive in my part of the world. Saw something brownish yesterday, but couldn't keep track of it when it flew over the busy main road :(

Thank you all very much for the kind messages.
I'm going over to Welney in Norfolk tomorrow and hope to come back with pictures of a few late butterflies – there should still be a comma or two flying. Fingers crossed.
