June and July are the bumper months, though Paul Kipling, of UK Butterflies fame, spent a week in the Alps this July and it rained every day  - so it's always a bit of a gamble. The low: All that rain, day after day. Nevertheless, 42 reasons to be cheerful in and around Bristol.
