Oaken Wood and Thrift Wood

Post by markhows »

I am planning trips to Thrift Wood early next week and would like to know any information, parking places etc. and also if the Heath Frits are there?

Also at the weekend I am going to Thursley and thought Oaken Wood would worth a visit as well. Any information again on parking etc. And any butterfly information for the site most appreciated.

Thanks

Well went to Thursley Common , Surrey

Lots of Silver Studded Blues, comma, meadow brown

Then onto Oaken Wood

Parking for a couple of cars only.

Lots of Silver washed fritillarys, white admirals, marbled whites, comma.
Wood white seen by others but not by myself.

Visited Thrift wood today, parking for one car only at the entrance more parking away from the site.

Saw loads of Heath Fritilaries 40+
in the clearing opposite side of the reserve to the entrance
