Earlier in February 2013 I visited Madeira and could not believe how many Clouded Yellows I came across throughout the island. I do not know how many were on the move, but it was positively heaving with them. In the north of the island at Ponto do Pargo I counted around 200 in one field. I have found out it is not that unusual for good numbers of Clouded Yellows to be seen here at this time of year, but I did wonder if any progeny from these or their progeny would reach the UK. I have posted a pic of a mating pair just outside where we were staying at Encosta Cabo Girao.

Someone is getting their links muddled (or I'm just hopelessly confused), because False Apollo took this same picture on 16th November ... :?

No this is a different photo Guy. I think with all these Clouded Yellows past and present during 2013 anyone would be confused. Lovely picture Yesman.

It was the same one, but the photo's changed now - so I think it was a muddled/miscopied link, or some bizarre routing problem! I noticed yesterday, but couldn't compare directly because your latest posts had been lost, Mike. Sorry Yesman, if it was a computer glitch out of your control!

Guy, you are not going mad. I have been noticing the same thing since the accidental loss of data a few days ago. An image appears on a post which is unrelated to that post, but if you click on the image and then refresh the page, the image changes to the correct one. I thought it was just my machine, so did not mention it, but now perhaps Pete needs to have a look.

It could well be that the database and thumbnails have gotten out of sync, so I've just "purged" all thumbnails (they've been deleted) and will be regenerated on first viewing. Hopefully this will sort things out!

Cheers,

- Pete
