ID Request : Osiris Blue ?

Post by Willem »

Dear,

I currently looking at some older pictures and wondering whether these are Osiris or Minimus ( taken Val D'Herens - Switzerland)

http://www.pyrgus.com/species.php?speci ... anguage=UK

My guess is Osiris :D .

Thanks in advance.
Kind Regards

Hi Willem,

That's a mazarine blue.

Guy

EDIT - just saw the second frame - those, I believe, are male little blues, minimus.

EDIT 2

The rear/right butterfly in this picture is osiris from the Val d'Hérens. You can see it has a very much narrower, linear, dark margin than your butterfly and less pronunced dark veins. The one in front is a green-underside blue:

Thanks Guy

I made the correction:
http://www.pyrgus.com/species.php?speci ... anguage=UK
and
http://www.pyrgus.com/species.php?speci ... anguage=UK

The URL above is dropped... for the moment.
:)
Kind Regards
