Being a gardener I get to work in several local gardens. I always keep an eye on what species are about, I've seen 21 species in my gardens this year. A Dark Green Frit and a couple of Brown Argus were the most unexpected, but on Monday after a couple of weeks of fleeting glances I was able to positively ID Brown Hairstreaks in one of my gardens. There is a prominate Ash and thorne hedging, and the nearest known coloney is less than a mile away. I'm some what chuffed to have them, but the grounds/ hedging is my responsibillity and I could use some advise on how to ensure their survival.
