Lisa-
I though Gruditch had it all stitched up this month with his fabulous Adonis - a perfect specimen beautifully sharp and well exposed. A real stunner.
Then you stick yours in!
Lisa, this not just one of the best butterfly photographs I have ever seen, it is one of the best photographs I have ever seen - full stop!!
Stunning.
You two are a real force to be reckoned with - well done.
Roger
Voting on this is going to be really interesting. We have two perfect butterflies, one a technically brilliant shot, the other artistically brilliant. Either way it is hard to see the Richardsons being beaten this month.
Well done you two.

I haven't taken a single picture in August or September, Martin! I'm going to blame my lovely, but weekend-booking-up-happy girlfriend.
Besides, if I had, it would have to be a cracker to beat the two Gs!!! I'd like somebody to submit a well exposed brown hairstreak. If you look at all the pics during August, nobody has managed to get the contrast between the bright, white underside and the chestnut upperside quite right.
Like the Specky, Eccles. Lovely flare! I know you didn't plan it, but I like it when you can see the camera in a picture, if you know what i mean... it reminds us that we're holding the paintbrush.
Like many others - hardly a shot in anger in September.
Jack's shot is a perfect for the end-of-season and a reminder of the fragility of life....
Gets my vote!

Guy, I expect your dog knows more about butterflies than many of us!
Does the pooch ever get between you and your quarry or, as I suspect, is he/she very well drilled by now?

We've developed a pretty good system over the years, Bryan! There was just that one time she bounced off to greet Matt Rowlings via a large tortoiseshell I was about to photograph. It would have been my best LT piccie ever... But I think he encouraged her. A camberwell beauty actually landed on her once, but she got uneasy as I started creeping towards her with the camera.
