Heath Frits still at Blean Woods?

Post by John W »

Hi, does anyone know if the Heath Fritillary is still flying at Blean Woods? I have an opportunity to go there tomorrow (Wed 17th July).

Thanks

Hello John,
Yes they are. I did not go myself, but yesterday, after a group of us were watched Kent's first breeding pair of Norfolk Hawkers at nearby Westbere, one member went to East Blean and saw a number of Heaths around the car park.
If you interested in the Norfolk Hawkers, of which up to 5 were seen today, let me know and I will give directions. Westbere to East Blean is about 3 miles.

Dave
