M40 compensation area

Post by MikeOxon »

There's been some discussion of this area on various threads, so there is a useful map of the M40 compensation area, with detailed grid reference, at http://www.ukbms.org/SiteFactsheet.aspx?siteId=1315

Although it is adjacent to the M40, the only access route is from the Oakley Wood car park (SP611117), as Neil describes at posting.php?mode=reply&f=29&t=4065&sid= ... d6#pr72730

You could stage a breakdown on the M40 and hop over the fence but, by then, the Police would have coned off one lane around your car and the resulting tailback would hit the national news headlines :o

Thanks Mike. After a day at whitecross on sunday with the Blackstreaks, i went to Bernwood quite late.I did ask a likely fellow the directions to the compensation area but just got a blank look..then.."ahh the conservation area !!".So i just walked to Bernwood meadow instead. It was late..and i was tired :D
