Large Heath in South Wales
Large Heath in South Wales
I'm staying at Llangrannog for a week (starting from yesterday) and heard large heath can be found nearby, anyone have any sites they can suggest?
Re: Large Heath in South Wales
Try Tregaron Bog, which is a pleasant half hour or so ride away from Llangrannog.

Indeed, it's the furthest south you can see this species in the UK too (watch out for Red Kites overhead!)
Re: Large Heath in South Wales
I'd forgotten about them - how long is their flight time, will they be gone by the first week of August? If they are brill as I'll be visiting the Outlaws in Aberaeron
Check out CymTiddu (if that's how it's spelt) as it's a good site for Chough - there is a butterfly walk there as well you can download the route from the National Trust website Ashywolf.

Hello Wurzel,
Flight season often goes into early August, this year has created much 'head-scratching' though with flight seasons all over the place (as you know ) Its so close to Aberaeron that if I were you, I'd go look regardless.
It's Cwmtudu
