Southern France in May

Post by dragnil »

Hello again,

I was in the Grands Causses NP recently and found this tiny butterfly with such an eye-catching colour scheme. Can anyone put a name to it for me please?

Thanks in advance,

David

He's a green hairstreak, David. Apart from its close (and much rarer) relative, Chapman's green hairstreak, this is the only European butterfly to sport genuine green colouration.

Many thanks, Guy, for the help I always receive in this forum. I'll be able to catalogue the images now. Such an eye catching colour!

Best wishes,

David
