The quality is always very good.

An idea. We should contact BBC Countryfile and maybe someone there would be interested in what we do and show off some of the pictures on TV. John Craven to interview Pete perhaps?

Publicity of our love for some of the countryside's most attractive inhabitants wouldn't do any harm at all and can only do good. Maybe even some TV footage next year of say a Fermyn Wood or Glapthorn gathering?

Hi Pauline,

When you post images (which uses BBCode tags), can you please make sure that the "Disable BBCode in this post" is *off*! I've fixed this post (and an earlier post). I believe you can set this to default to "off" in your profile. Thanks!

Cheers,

- Pete

There's some really hefty competition here so to stand half a chance I'll have to change my entry to this male brimstone snapped
at Ravensroost Wood today (26th August) using my new Sony A100.
I haven't got a macro lens yet so I used a Canon close up lens stuck on a 75-300 zoom.

Thanks for kind comments.
The Isle of Wight Council in its wisdom has decided to mow down the tall grass etc. with a large tractor and mower where the butterflies roost, and where this photo was taken. Gone are the flowers, grass and bushes.Hard luck butterflies- better luck next year?

Taken at Old Winchester Hill in Hampshire today.
Filmed between Common Knapweed I was lucky to get the shot, and unlucky not to get a full frontal!!

There's not much to choose from this month. I was fortunate enough to find these two three weeks ago.
