The alder buckthorn in my garden has grown into a good sized tree over the last few years. As I understand it Brimstones prefer smaller shrub sized buckthorns. I am not sure if I coppice my buckthorn if it will grow back with many new shoots as hazel would.
Does anyone have any helpful advice they could offer?
to chop or not to chop?

On the first really good sunny day this year, you didn't really expect us to be sitting at our computers did you?
