Various Butterflies

Went over to an extremely quiet Noar Hill on sunday, but did manage to get a 'glipse' of the Brown Hairstreak, but hardly anything else.

Rogerdodges wife found this caterpillar - Id please.

Decided to go to Stockbridge down, with the usual mass of Chalkhill blues and managed to find Roger a couple of Silver Spotted Skippers. Roger then managed to find two of these beauties - Shame about the poor chalkhill though.

We then went on to Danebury hill and did a one hour sweep.

We saw the following

12 Chalkhill Blue Females & 15 Males
Too many to count Meadow Browns
4 Large Whites
3 Brown Argus
5 Gate Keepers
5 Common Blue
2 Small Heath
3 Brimstones
1 Dark Green Fritillary
1 Painted Lady
4 Small Tortoiseshells
1 Adonis Blue

Thanks for that Pete - Buff Tip was one of our guesses -but it seemed such a huge pupa for such a small butterfly - it was about 4 inches long.
