I was hoping that the dark fringes through the white outer border of the wings were a bit Adonis blueish. Talk about a triumph of optimism over reality :oops:

I would have said adonis or chalkhill too.

Hi,
Based on the lack of inner spot on the forewing, I would say this is a Brown Argus. See the Brown Argus page for what I'm on about:

Whoops I missed the obvious, Alexander. There's the crooked third spot on the hindwing to back your ID up as well.

I would say that is definitely a brown argus.
