UK Butterflies Outstanding Contribution Award 2012

Post by Pete Eeles »

The UK Butterflies Outstanding Contribution Award for 2012 was presented today to Seth and Sami Gibson (by 2010's winners, Gary and Lisa). Seth and Sami were an obvious choice, having walked the length of the country in aid of Butterfly Conservation for their honeymoon! Just amazing. Seth and Sami received a copy of Richard Tratt's "Butterfly Landscapes", the "Video Guide to the Butterflies of Britain and Ireland" kindly donated by BirdGuides, and a UK Butterflies calendar. Very worthy winners.

Cheers,

Congratulations to you both! Yours really was an outstanding contribution in every sense. I do hope you'll take up a challenge in my part of the world one day - after what you've done the Alps will seem like a gentle stroll!

Thanks for the recognition and the lovely surprise :) the UKB folk were so supportive during our walk.

Guy, we'd love to take a stroll in your neck of the woods!

Just a small bone to pick... We walked the length of Britain, not the length of the country. We walked the lengths of 3 countries! ;)

Thanks again all :) x

Fixed on the home page :D

Hard to imagine anyone doing anything MORE deserving of such recognition.

Walking 1,000 miles on HONEYMOON during the worst summer in a century with the bride suffering an ankle injury even before the off....

....congratulations Seth & Sami. Legendary stuff.

More than well-deserved .... should have been awarded with bar and oak leaves.
