Lydlinch Common and Hod Hill

Hi guys,I'm planning a visit to Dorset this coming Saturday with Marsh Fritillary as my target. David Newland in his "Discover Butterflies in Britain" recommends Lydlinch Common which he says has probably the largest population in England: has anyone seen them there this year?
Alternatively,I've heard they can be found in numbers at Hod Hill : are they out yet?

Hi Hoggers,
I saw them at Cerne Abbas and apparently there are lots out now.
You will also find Adonis Blues, Dingies, Grizzled, Walls, Orange tips, Peacocks, Small Heaths, Speckled Wood, DoB's amongst others.
Head up towards the giant, and then once you have gone up the steps, aim left and stick to the lower part of the hill on the edge of the trees.

I visited Cerne Abbas on Monday, there were lots of Marsh Fritillaries along with Adonis Blues, Grizzled Skippers, Dingy Skippers and some very tiny Brown Arguses.

i visited hod hill on monday.there were plenty of marsh fritillaries on the wing,mainly in the south side ditch.also grizzled and dingy skipper in good number,adonis ,common and small blue too.
