Bird ID

Post by Dave McCormick »

I was at a coastal site today in south down, NI and saw this bird, I was watching it when a big rat ran past, wasn't very nice but can anyone tell me what it is? Could it be a female stonechat? Went to look for butterflies here but didn't get to see any until leaving when the sun came out (was very cloudy most of the day) and only saw a speckled wood and three small white. Did manage to see two short eared owl and 35 tree sparrows, both I have been looking forward to see for a long time.
