My Switzerland Swallowtails

Post by EricY »

Had a fantastic trip up Rhine to Basel & back again with 5 days on boat in Basel & trips out. Guy was right it does rain & snow in april but we also had 3 superb weather days for most scenic part of trip. A few photos.

Nice shots, Eric!

Swallowtails are hilltoppers par excellence - you saw them in their element.

Because of all the late snow this year the choughs have been up and down. When the weather is inclement at the top of the mountain they descend to towns and villages, where they circle on thermals from buildings. I was watching them as I did my town duty on Tuesday. It was a lousy day but they seemed to have found an urban thermal more or less above Le Francis pizzeria in Villars!
