Today in Blean woods...

Post by steveh »

Had a brief visit today to Blean Woods in the hope of seeing a glimpse of a White Admiral as I have never seen one.The list I saw today was as follows..

Ringlets....(Countless amount)
Heath Frits..prob 50 seen. (Generally in many places I looked but now most were very very ragged!
Meadow brown.. 4
Small white 3
Purple Hairstreak 2 (flying past)
Large Skipper 3
Comma 1
White Admiral 1

Was very pleased to see my first white admiral :) and they have a superb flight! I was all poised to take a shot when it briefly landed but the comma (who was previously chasing anything that came near to the area he kept returning to) decided to spoil things!

Regards
Steve

Purple Hairstreak are hard to get photos of. Noticed around 70 ringlets on my trip out yesterday so you would have no problem seeing them where they can be found.

Nice to see a white admiral, I still have yet too. Great comma pic anyway. :)
Cheers all,
