Lulworth

I'm off for a few days holiday next week to the Lulworth area of Dorset and I would like too see and photograph as many different species as possible.
Will I be too early to see a Lulworth skipper and if not where is the best place to look?
Also whilst I'm in the area could anyone recommend any other "must see" sites?

Go to Ballard Down, went last year and had loads of species (15ish), top site.

Durlston CP best for Lulworth skipper don't know about timing, I am planning going at the end of the month.

A bit of info on Ballard Down would be appreciated.
I may visit tomorrow afternoon - after Bentley Wood, and on my way back home to Devon.
Best access point, best areas etc. would be appreciated.

Martin Down is less than an hour away from Lulworth, and a must see site.

Check the above address for details. At the mo their is good numbers of White Ads, D-G and S-W Frits massive numbers of Marbled Whites + many more. And Bentley Wood is only another 20 minuets down the road.

We were at Lulworth the week before last and there were plenty of Lulworth Skippers about then. There is a picture I took on the June competion page of one with a Small Copper. It was taken on Blindon Hill. It's a steep climb but well worth it for the view!

Hi, i stayed in Lulworth for 2 weeks in early June, Lulworth Skippers in the car park at Corfe Castle, which is just down the road, Cerne Abbas was very good lots of stuff there, coastal cliffs were productive, and just remembered Dulston Head nr Swanage that was great for Dingy+Grizzled Skippers,Marbled Whites,Small Blues and lots of the more commoner species, i manages 9 new species on my holiday,, best of luck to you hope the sun shines. P.S, they also run a moth trap at Durlston Head, i saw a Lappet and a Striped Hawkmoth which were great.
