Lang's Short-tailed Blue

During the last couple of weeks I have seen quite a few Lang's Short-tailed Blues in my area of the Alpes-Maritimes. Most of them seem to be in very good condition. Here is a female photographed this afternoon.

And here is a male photographed a couple of weeks ago.

They seem to have a preference for Rosmarinus officinalis (Rosemary) and Globularia alypum at present, but perhaps that's because there aren't many other flowers out at this time of the year.

Interesting. Here in the Swiss Alps pirithous is extremely rare - apart from one 2006 record there are no records since 1964 and only a few before that. On the other hand, boeticus is regular in late summer/autumn. I guess you have a true Mediterranean climate, with Mediterranean winters, and both species are resident chez vous; we have a fake Mediterranean climate, with very cold winters.
