Could someone identify this please?
Hopefully it is a butterfly, if not could someone still identify it?

Hi John,

This looks to me like a Purple and Gold Pyralid moth, it's a micro-moth (don't ask me why its a micro).
I saw one or two myself this weekend in North Wales.

I believe it to be Pyrausta aurata, rather than Pyrausta purpuralis ("Purple and Gold"). See http://www.ukmoths.org.uk/show.php?id=965

Thanks, it does look like a Pyrausta aurata comparing to the image on the website and it was very small
