Heath Fritillaries today

Post by Marc Heath »

I had a brief look in East blean Wood this morning before showers set in. In one area there were c20 Heath Fritillaries that were drying off and some newly emerged ones which gave good photo opportunities. 3 Ringlet were also seen along with 1 Purple Hairstreak in the car park. A few photos are attached.

Super shots!
Still no White Admiral yet then.with regards to the Hairstreaks that's three different sightings in a week, is that just luck or pretty normal for East Blean or are they on the increase there do you think?
