Hi Phil,

Glad to see your return journey was worth it. I am hoping to get over to Grafton sometime next weekend...weather permitting.
Feeling a bit jealous seing all these lovely BH photos on various threads, I only managed to get out to one of my local spots yesterday for the first time in the past couple of weeks.

Cheers,

Neil.

Unexpectedly my wife has been invited to a golf comp in Shropshire on sunday & we are making the long trip over from Norfolk tomorrow. All being well weatherwise (sundays forecast looks a lot better than saturday!) I hope to pop down the 50 odd miles from Shropshire for the open day on sunday, a lot better than 170 miles from Norfolk, anyone else from UKB going? Eric

Hi Eric,
I'd love to pop up to Grafton Wood this weekend but the forecast doesn't look great and I think I may only have a couple of trips outside of Wales in the budget left for the year  . I hope you have a good trip and that the forecast changes for the better for Sunday. :)

Agreed. A cold front is due to pass through the country during Saturday and what it leaves behind will be an autumnal feel, though if you're there anyway I suppose you've nothing to lose.

Eric,
did you go to Grafton Wood on the Sunday and have any luck? I think the weather turned out to be half-decent in the end...

Yes Michael I did pop down to Grafton. Arrived a little late & the group were already out in the field & had found an egg. Very dull but warmish weather, just one brief burst of sun in morning. Interesting tour round the wood, found several eggs but no luck with bf's. I had to leave about 2pm to get back to Shropshire in time for when my wife had finished the golf. Sun was just coming full out then & those who went out again pm may have had better luck. Eric
