SD Card problems

Post by Dave McCormick »

I have a 32GB ProSpec SDHC (x150 speed) card and it works fine, but everytime I put it into my computer, it says that it needs to be scanned to check for errors and it constantly fixes some errors on the card (sometimes it comes up and there are no errors) but saving images to the card on computer causes the image to be messed up but on camera its totally fine.

Anyone know what to do?
Cheers all,

Do you always format your card in the camera each time you insert it, before use? It is good practice to do this, as it ensures the card is properly matched to the camera.

Have you also checked the camera specification that it can actually handle 32GB cards properly? There are different file systems for different sizes of card, so it is important to check that both the camera and the computer are capable of using the correct one for your card.

Hi Mike

Yes I have usually formatted (not recently though) and my Canon 600D can support SD, SDHC, and SDXC memory cards (not sure max size). I'll format card again and see if that helps.
