French Moff

Post by Charles Nicol »

I saw this large moth in the centre of Carcassonne just now . I had to borrow a chair from the bar next door to get close enough ( it is on a shop sign ).

PS i was feeling annoyed because i missed the chance to photograph a huge hawkmoth which landed on a car outside the restaurant where i was lunching. A French child poked it and it flew away

Paysandisia archon. See: http://palmae.free.fr/paysandisia_archon.htm I think it's in the second edition of Waring and Townsend.
