Hi all,
I'll be heading to Norfolk for the first time at the beginning of September, any ideas what possible 'less common' species I might see (mind you I've only got 25 species so far so anything will be good) I guess it'll be too late for Swallowtail by then? Also any particular sites I could visit?
Thanks,
Nige

Hi Nige,
The lack of local response may speak volumes! I don't think that any partial second brood of Swallowtails would last into September. With the early season, you may still get a tatty Grayling at Winterton or at the site on the branch website. These duneland sites are always worth a visit at any time of the year, there should be a few Small Heath/Coppers about. But the nicest butterfly event I've seen in Norfolk during September would have been a large migrant influx of Small Torts 2 or 3 years back, which did it for me.
All the best
Rob

Rob/Mike,
Thanks very much for the replies. I will keep my eyes peeled for anything fluttery! And next year make sure we book a holiday to Norfolk a bit earlier.
I will lookout for the Camberwell Beauty, that'll certainly be a nice surprise!!
