Dewy Ringlet

Post by Reverdin »

I don't think I have aired these ones yet 'cos they didn't present an ID issue. These are 2 different butterflies I have labelled Dewy Ringlet, now the underside I am no longer certain about, and the upperside butterfly has very pronounced hindwing spots.. is that usual for pandrose?... somewhat worn butterflies, but quite beautiful in their own way, and really unco-operative to photograph!!

You're right - those spots are not normally pupilled, though they are almost always present, and ringed in red. I don't know how rare the pupils are.
