White ID help please

Post by derekg »

I took this photo of a White butterfly yesterday at Bowdown Woods and it doesn't seem to match anything in my butterfly ID book

Thanks in advance

Yep, thats a female Green Veined white.
Can be a variable species but the summer generation females are usually more heavily marked on the uppersides than those that are around in the Spring.

Cheers,

Neil.

Definitely a GV White, although that one's more heavily marked than usual.
