Blue id

Post by Anthony »

Looking back through some old images I took of butterflies (and thinking I need better equipment to rival some shots on this site...) I came across this one that I can't id. The orange antenna tips particularly threw me.

If it was UK, I would say a pretty worn, male Chalk Hill Blue.

Cheers

It was taken on the South Downs (Old Winchester Hill) a year ago in August - so it could well be a battered butterfly. I attach another image of the same beast.

Gut instinct says Chalkhill to me too. I agree with Lee.
