Went to West Wittering today.Lots of lovely gatekeepers on the coastal path to Itchenor.

that's actually the first time i have ever noticed the white spots on the hind wing. i really do need to pay more attention

always good to see them.

The white spots are not a 100% constant feature - so you haven't necessarily missed them before!

And sometimes, as with the one pictured, you get more than one! There are also faint traces of additional black spots on the forewings.
