It's been pretty dismal for the last fortnight. It's hard to believe than just 150 miles further east it's 5C warmer and almost permanently dry!Michaeljf wrote:David,

If I was a gambling man (actually I am - but we'll let that pass) I'd lay good odds that I saw a Purple Hairstreak today at Haddon Hill in Somerset.
No photo, just a glimpse as it "hairstreaked" it's way up an old oak......
