I have not been to this location properly for some years and I went last year and saw loads of 6 spot burnet in evening. There was 5-6 per knapweed plant and there was 5-6 knapweed and there was 10+ pupae on plants.
This location, whitespots country park, is only 6-7 miles from my house and this is a prime location for butterflies and moths. One year in July I saw 20+ red admiral on a bush and a rock which had sun shining oni it had 12+ common blue. I am nearly sure there is brown argus too.
Anyway, what butterflies/moths would I be expected to see in mid 2nd 3rd week June? I am planning to go around this time and have a thourgh look.
I have seen speckled wood and Meadow Brown here too in the shady areas. There is a meadow area, a field, another meadow area and a lake nearby. I think there is magpie moths here too.
Could anyone help on the species I'd find around this time of year?

Looking through site, found a few I may see:
Meadow Brown
Possibly ringlet - doubt it, but way weathers been going, not sure.
Whens the best time to start seeing six-spot burnet moths?
Common Blue
Possibly Brown Argus?
What moths would I seen around the second week of June? biggish ones, not the tiny varities.

I was here today. Arrived at 4:30pm and it was very warm.
Saw first ever Small Heath (Numerous, took a wile to get these two shots):
Numerous common blue. Many where sunning themselves:
Is this normal? I have not seen blue on underside before. This is a male:
Another one sunning itself:
Had to be careful as there was a big cat, probably a black panther spotted in area.
Saw only one orchid on this trip:
Lake with loads of fish and a few fishers:
Loads of damsels and a few dragonflies. A old windmill looks smaller than it is.:
Helens tower (There was several bikers on scramblers here):
Red Admiral (not the best I took, but OK) Looking tattered:
There was speckled wood, painted lady (I think) and red admirla fighting in area at once.
Nice evening. Hoping to get back soon for more shots and have a better look around. I also saw a few different micro moths and Orange-Tips (too fast for picture) and Meadow Browns. Hoping to go back earlier in day to see more. Looking for six spot burnet next.
