Male copper approaches female copper:

She gets all in a tizzy and replies, 'But I'm a purple-edged copper and you're a sooty copper!!'

He carries on pushing his luck, but gets nowhere:

He did, in the end, give up - not long after I decided to turn the camera to 'video'. I've posted a very brief movie of the interspecific encounter here:

She seems to be pregnant anyway. I wonder what would have happened if she hadn't been.

Nice "narrative" Guy. One problem with your videos, they are not long enough! Nice though.

Sorry I can't give you feature length movies, Dave! :) But in this case all the action stopped shortly after I had started recording it. "La suite" was realy quite boring - the female remained and the lovelorn male fluttered around in the background composing tragic poetry in his little head. You can just see him in this brief clip:
