Ewyas Harold Common

Post by Jack Harrison »

I was told today while in Haugh Wood that Ewyas Harold Common (some 12 miles to the SW of Hereford) currently has high numbers of PB Fritillaries with a recent count of around 80.

Location uncertain in details but my guess would be around SO389295

I've been there twice recently Jack and it definitely has promise (though it was a fortnight ago before the warmer weather brought about this sudden surge in butterfly numbers).

It's pretty easy to find, but the site itself is quite bewildering and it's fairly easy to get lost.
