Nice pics Martin!

I think your egg-laying Wall is an egg-laying Speckled Wood :)

Cheers,

Martin, wasn't it you I remember gloating because you had a good picture of Lulworth skipper and I didn't?

That's the only reason I'm mentioning that your small skipper, above, smells very much of Lulworth to me!!

They're really lovely pictures.

Well spotted Guy! You can even see the crescent on the left upperwing.

Me gloat? No...you can't gloat about being lucky, being in the right place at the right time for a change :)

I've just gone back over the photos and I think this is the same individual, what say you on this one? Lulworth again I think.
I'll be making mistakes until the day I die, I can live with that :D, but it's very reassuring for a first season butterfly-er like me to be in the company of such very experienced and knowledgeable people.

Yes, that one has the same smell! It's wonderfully golden but it still cries out 'Lulworth skipper' to me.

I really must get a good picture of one this year.

Thanks Martin - I may take you up on that one day! From your pictures I take it your apartment is in the South. I wonder, if I saw enough pictures, if I could place it to the nearest town...
