Manfrotto grip ball heads

The result of my little test today has come to the conclusion that with the 324RC2 and 327RC2, you cannot do what the 332RC2 does. Gruditch's 332RC2 has a handle with screw holes on upper and lower surfaces, but the 324RC2 and 327RC2 only has them on the upper side (it is not symmetrical). Looking at the photos of the 324RC2 below, you will see what I mean:

The first photo is of the head set up as bought, with the handle/trigger mechanism on the right (camera would point towards the top of the picture)... Fingers would pull the trigger from the top.



Second photo shows it set up for left handed use: Quick-release block has been unscrewed (the 2 allen bolts) and replaced in the other orientation too (ie in the other holes), so again the camera would point towards the top of the photo. As you can see in this second photo, the trigger is on the "wrong side" of the handle and would be pressed by the ball of the thumb on the left hand rather than the fingers. You cannot rotate the handle forwards or backwards through 180 degrees and therefore cannot put the trigger at the top. It can be used like this, but it is obviously not as comfortable as it could have been if designed for left hand use.

I have used one of those and found the fine adjustment very fiddly compared to my simple and versatile 484RC2
It was also cheaper

What i am looking for is a simple heavy duty B&S for a monopod, to carry a 300mm lens. I'll swap my Manfrotto 322RC2 wrist breaker for anything suitable.

I hope that was just a poor choice of words, given that we've all seen the (since deleted) agreement with Gruditch to sell him this for £50?

Tis OK, deal is done, I knocked him down to £10 its for Lisa really, her old 322 is a bit past its best. BTW I checked out a 327 I think, today that has mounting holes on both sides, Trev I think you should of shopped around.
