HDR

Antony Spencer (featured in today's Sunday Times) is into HDR in a very big way and is earning prize money:

you can see that he uses Canon DSLRs but I can't find a mention of his HDR technique - I would like to know how he does it. He has links to other photographic websites and all his links seem to feature HDR images. There are certainly some very good pictures but perhaps the HDR is a little over done in some cases. But if the aim is to create art rather than photographs, then the effect is certainly justified.

I wrote to "Landscape Photographer of the Year", Antony Spencer about what I had assumed to be his use of HDR.

I received this interesting reply:
"Thanks for you your kind words! None of my images are HDR, they are largely made using neutral graduated filters to balance the light. HDR is a very destructive format of processing and doesn't leave a natural effect so its never been something I have used."

I agree Lee. Absolutely stunning photos.

Either inspires a person to become more accomplished or give up altogether seeing such brilliant work.

Hopefully inspires most of us.
