Re: Last of the summer wine... oh gawd
Spot on, Nick!
The flower is doubtless Geranium sylvaticum, which is the main hostplant and nectar plant in Suisse Romande.
And sorry, Roger, I couldn't resist it! And since lenses don't have corners I really did think you were talking about the picture ...

Thanks Nick!!
I shall wear it with pride!

I am sorry, Roger....
Perhaps you would accept a replacement?
?
...unfortunately, the only spare I have is for a well-known temperance society.......

It was Roger who missed something. If I remember correctly, he got within about 2 glasses of brandy of those Cynthia's frits...Paul wrote:Mine fits great!!.... will also wear it with pride... fantastic idea.... what happened to Roger's? did I miss something??
Another time, Roger - they'll keep!

Re: Last of the summer wine... oh gawd
Shall I book the flights now?
Edit:
I found this one...P. argus ...or P. idas...or P. argyrogomon? 8th July late p.m. close to Grisson's
Edit: I think it may be P. argyrogomon as I do remember them at this location on the way up....

Re: Last of the summer wine... oh gawd
...another one which should be easy - tho' I have it as Mazarine C. semiargus, I may well be wrong as I usually have been
Edit: Is that a bit better, Jack?

I was about to say it must be form obscura. Then I tilted the screen on my laptop.

Re: Last of the summer wine... oh gawd
Hi Nick. That last is indeed semiargus. The previous one is not argyrognomon, for lots of reasons, including a) it doesn't look like one and b) they don't fly there. It's either argus or idas - and I'd very tentatively go for argus...

Re: Last of the summer wine... oh gawd
Nothing wrong with the original, just my incompetence with the laptop screen angle. I am now seeing it in ALL its glory on my bigger PC monitor that is ALWAYS at the right angle.Nick:Edit: Is that a bit better, Jack?
