Re: Rogues Gallery
Pretty quiet in Cambridgeshire this weekend, then, Jack? Idly surfing antipodean toilet facilities indeed!
I bet our government doesn't even have a national continence management strategy.

Re: Rogues Gallery
Guy was very rude:
Mind you, it has given me an idea for a spoof (Initially I thought that Jack Harrison Park wasn't a real place but cross checking shows that it is). The user feeds his/her name into a website and the search returns a geographical feature complete with “facilities” – perhaps a Red Light District or a Gay Bar. But programming that would be beyond me. But the evil thought is fun.

Re: Rogues Gallery
My family say I haven’t changed, but I’m not sure they were being complimentary.
As Dany Lartigue, the French artist and butterfly enthusiast (he has a butterfly museum in St Tropez), now 90 years old and still razor sharp, said to me “Once you get into butterflies, you never get out”.

Re: Rogues Gallery
Absolutely lovely Roger.
I recall an essay I did when about the same age. The title was something like “Country Pursuits”. I wrote about walking, fishing, collecting birds’ eggs (yes, we did that in those days) and peasant shooting. My teacher was in stitches. “They might go peasant shooting in Italy but we don’t do it here”. I just didn’t get the joke. As you can imagine, I did not at the time appreciate the mickey-taking but I can laugh now more than 60 years later.
My sister – eight years younger – absolutely hated moths. I thought that she should be encouraged to take an interest. One summer’s evening when I was about 16, I caught dozens and let them go in her bedroom. I can still hear her shrieks to this day; Jennifer hasn’t forgotten. However, a few weeks later when we were out in the car, she got her revenge – I suspect with Mum’s encouragement. I was in the front passenger seat and Jen was immediately behind me. I didn’t notice until too late when she stuck some chewing gum in my hair.

Re: Rogues Gallery
I still have all the hand written records from my locality which I jotted down assiduously whilst an early teenager in 1981 and 1982 (proud to say I was out butterflying on the day of Charles' and Diana's wedding in July 1981).
