..showed one of my pictures of a Small Copper on a scabious to my mother....
Her first words were, "..that's a nice picture of the flower..."
You can rely on your mother to bring you down to earth! :lol:

My Mum brought me down to earth a couple of years ago when she casually showed me a picture she had snapped on a walk in Rendlesham forest. It turned out to be a perfect, freshly emerged, female purple hairstreak, of the kind that never pose for me in this way! And given the limitations of her camera, it was a lovely picture...

I'm exceedingly jealous. I've never yet seen a Purple Hairstreak with its wings open at all, let alone posing like that.

Sometimes you just need to get lucky.
