Hi folks, I'm a newbie to your excellent site. I took this photo at the University Of Durham botanical garden, Saturday 4th September. It was a glorious day, made for me by this beautiful example which I wanted to share with you!

The fact they're common should never detract from the inherent and overwhelming beauty of this insect. If this were as rare as the Purple Emperor it would be twice as coveted.
