New Butterflies of Britain & Ireland book - Easterbrook

Post by Michaeljf »

I see a new book on the Butterflies of Britain and Ireland is coming out on the 5th October by Michael Easterbrook.

I know we have plenty of books already, and I still have to get the Jeremy Thomas / Richard Lewington one that was released this year (April 2010)

Link to the new book (via Amazon, other booksellers are available!) is below.

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Butterflies-Bri ... 58&sr=1-16

Does anyone know anything about the new book? Seen a preview? Any views on if it will add anything new to a area which is already well covered?

Michael

p.s. I do like a nice new book with good butterfly photos though

And while you're at it, there's another interesting October release by Patrick Barkham (see below).

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Butterfly-Isles ... 54&sr=1-25

The description on Amazon (other booksellers are available again!) says:
He meets some deeply knowledgeable and eccentric butterfly obsessives
I'm wondering if that means stories about anyone here. Surely it describes several of our esteemed colleagues...

Hi Michael,

I know that Mr Oates had a look at Patrick Barkham's draft - and thought it was "excellent". I shared a few days out with Patrick and some of what we saw should make great reading! I might be a little biased, but he's a very talented journalist and I reckon it will be well worth getting. I'll be buying Michael Easterbrook's book too.

"I know we have plenty of books already" - true, but you can't have too many good butterfly books! :D

Neil
