Speckled brown colours

Hi,
The picture was taken Early April 2007 at Mallorca. Looks like Spekled wood but the colours appear totally different to the ones I have sean in England. Could anyone throw any light on his please.

That is the southern (nominal) form of the species. The one in England (and also in Finland) is the northern form P. aegeria f. tircis. Some think that is a subspecies, some don't.
