Attracting butterflies

I know a few good places butterflies go to in my area, but they won't sit stll long enought to get much of a shot. Whats the best way of attracting them besides flowers? What frut is good to use and how would I attract butterflies using rotting fruit?

Different species are attracted to different things - so there's no one answer to this.

I'm afraid the best answer is to "get used to it" ... and perfect your field craft. I've been trying for several years now and still haven't got it right
