Seem to have a great deal of ladybirds in my garden too, way more than last year.
I saw my first Holly Blue today - was unloading a lot of plants for a house down in the village, as I was in the back of the car I heard my name being shouted and told to hurry over here - and there with a big grin on his face and pointing towards a butterfly, I watched the Holly Blue float out the garden - Bless!!

I saw speckled wood too yesterday - Male. Also I have seen over 200 or so ladybirds aroudn latley and possibly more.

Reading Butterfly conservation N.I., it said that the butterfly is supposed to appear in Late April. This is beginning. Shows the heat.

Saw two more Speckled Woods yesterday on my local patch, one was perfect condition, the other was a sad sorry state, with most of it's hind wings missing.

Pic taken by him in doors!
