Dear List
I have a day off from my grindingly boring desk based (in a windowless office ) job tomorrow.
I cannot decide where to go.
My optiond are -
1, Collard Hill for Large Blue - 1.5 hrs there, and 1.5 hours back
2, Glapthorne/Brampton for Black Hairstreak - 4 hours there and 4 hours back
3, Hants for Adonis, Small Blue etc - SPBs in woods and whatever else Bentley Wood/Stockbridge can throw up. 2 hours there, 2 hours back.
4, Somewhere else (advice please)
I have to be bak in North Devon at 19:30 for a poker tournament.
I shall take the majority decision at 05:00 tomorrow morning.
I shall Blog via my new Iphone on this thread during the day.
Thanks (in anticipation) for your input.

Weather forecast is good, so for me, it would have to be Glapthorne

OK - Collard Hill it is. That's good, I had hoped it would be! More later.

Collard Hill
09:15, been here about 45 mins. Lovely walk up with meadow browns everywhere, a few lazy small heath. Excellent orchids with half a dozen (greater or lesser??) butterfly orchids. Sun now warming up - hope for first large blue during next hour. More later

Collard Hill
13:30
saw first LB at 10:45. Very overcast then, but now very bright, warm and breezy. As I write this I am sat 4ft from a pair in copulo.
Will post photo when I get home.
Great day. Off for a bit of lunch now.

Thanks to all who voted for me to go to Collard.
I had a great day, met some excellent people, and got a few good photographs.
To that one poor soul who felt that my day would be best spent hoovering around the house - my wife doesn't need that sort of encouragement! Please don't do it again!

glad you had a good day, great Large Blue pair... I thought about you as I gazed out of the window at work this am....
I'm sort of planning Great Orm followed by Lake District this weekend, weather dependant![Confused :?](./images/smilies/icon_confused.gif)
